In 1994, I had the great pleasure of attending the 15th Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. I had won a bursary from the Commonwealth Relations Trust to attend the Games, in the hope that if Manchester ever won the Games that I would have some idea of what to expect. I attended as much of the actual Sport as possible and filed reports back to The BAY 96.9 back in Lancaster in the UK. But I was also able to speak to the Victoria public to get a sense of what Manchester could expect. |

John Kani is a world renound South African actor who performed 'The Island' at the Lowry Theatre in Salford during the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002. I had the great pleasure of interviewing him along with Winston Ntshona, backstage at the Theatre. It was a wonderful interview and both men spoke very movingly about their lives in South Africa and about their acting careers.
