The first semi-final tips-off at 3.30pm and is followed by the second game at 6.00pm. The BBL Cup competition starts on the 27th October with the first-round derby clash between the Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders and the Team Birmingham Panthers. The first-round draw is as follows: Everton Tigers vs. BiG Storage Cheshire Jets The hosting of these games continues the K2 Arena’s association with basketball after the venue successfully staged two Great Britain international games against Ireland over the Summer. Those games saw involvement from BBL players such as Newcastle Eagles’ point guard Richard Midgley, Everton Tigers’ centre Chris Haslam, and Julius Joseph of the Scottish Rocks; all of whom will be looking for a return with their respective clubs for this event. The K2 Arena also gave British Basketball fans the first opportunity this summer to see new GB superstar Luol Deng (pictured above).
