As somebody who has been involved in Radio and music for in excess of 30 years, I have to say how disappointed I am with the way radio has developed in this country.

Many years ago I was one of a number of people who argued that there was a place for many more radio stations in this country. Stations that would play a variety of music and have a variety of content.

Well, I have to say, we have finally got a huge number of stations now but unfortunately there is a a total lack of variety.

There seems to be an assumption that there is just one type of music...pop. But where is the variety? Where is the Jazz station, where are the Country music stations, where are the bird song stations?

To be honest they are out there but I'm afraid they are only on-line, and you will need a computer and a lot of patience to track them down.

It was with this in mind that I decided to launch the New Sunset Radio on-line. It is here that there is the most incredible variety of stations and the New Sunset is just one.

The station plays a single type of music and if you like Soul and Smooth Jazz then this is the station for you.

I have to say over the past few months I have been delighted with the number of people getting in touch saying how much they are enjoying the music that we play.

I am also over the moon with the number of Soul & Jazz artists who have been sending me their music for consideration for the New Sunset Radio playlist.
